I don't know why it still surprises me
Mar. 14th, 2009 08:29 amI wasn't a big fan of Andrew "Test" Martin's in-ring work. I wasn't an anti-fan either. Mostly I was pretty "Meh" about him. This does not mean, however, that I am not saddened by his passing. Every time a wrestler dies at a young age, it catches me off guard; although, by all rights, I should be pretty jaded by now. Maybe it speaks well of my character that I will never, ever be used to men dying at the age of 33.
If I was a praying type of woman, I'd say that I will be keeping Test's family in my prayers. Instead, I will just keep them in my thoughts and continued to be saddened by the news.

I've begun my fake tan regiment
Apr. 28th, 2008 09:58 pmI slather on the fake tan lotion with varying degrees of success, and I have thus far been satisfied with the results. Sure my tan is a little blotchy and streaky, but I'm no longer alabaster. It's not like I tan all that evenly naturally anyway.
While watching wrestling today, though, my little fake tan suddenly seems so... insufficient. The tans that Mssrs. Triple H and Randy Orton are so dark! and orange! Both while they are being washed out by the lights of the big show.
Oh well. They look like freaks in real life though. Extremely muscular, tan, tall, handsome freaks, but freaks nonetheless.

Goodbye Ric!
Mar. 31st, 2008 10:18 pmI thought that Ric Flair's HOF induction broke me. Boy was I wrong. I just spent the last 20 minutes bawling because of Ric Flair's goodbye. He has meant so much to the wrestling business for such a long time. It's difficult to imagine the business without him. This was a hell of a piece of history to watch. It was nice to see him receive all the thanks he deserves for the years of entertainment that he has provided.
Sigh.
Sigh.
The charisma that those three men ooze should be combining and causing universe to implode any moment now. If not, then I expect that my head my explode from all the squee that I'm doing right now!
And now he's razzing Jericho about his haircut.
I miss the Rock. Sigh.
ETA: And he gave John Cena shit about The Marine! And then proceeded to make a joke about his own shitty movie, Doom. Let me repeat: I miss the Rock.
ETA 2: The Rock saying, "Grandpa, I just hope I made you proud," did me in. The tears, they are aflowin'--also, the Rock's mom is pretty hot.

I almost forgot that USA is airing the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony tonight. Thank goodness I was channel surfing around here at work, or I would have missed it. Ric Flair is going in! The Rock will be there to induct his granddaddy and daddy. I always end up a little bit morre excited for the HOF than I do for Wrestlemania proper.
The opening montage got me a little teary already. It should be pretty good.
The Rock is coming out now! I'm super excited to see him again. Wrestling is all the worse for his absence.

Two of my great loves, professional wrestling and Project Runway will be combined next week! Squee!
From some random website or another:
The WWE Divas will be featured on the February 6th episode of the Bravo TV series Project Runway. The reality competition series pits aspiring fashion designers in a series of challenges to make dresses situated for the appropriate subject and make them appealing and fashionable. This upcoming episode will see the remaining contestants having to design clothing for the WWE Divas, though it is not quite known yet if the dresses will be meant as wrestling attire or not. Considering the number of contestants left on the show (six), it is possible the Divas will be acting as their models on the runway. Project Runway airs Wednesdays at 10pm on Bravo TV.
How great does that sound? It would only be better if they had to design ring-attire for the guys.
