Color me impressed; I just saw some pictures of Katie Holmes where she looked both cute and youthful. She almost looked like she hadn't had the soul sucked out from behind her eyes in these pics.

I mean there were still little bags under her eyes and she still pretty miserable, obviously. She is still married to Tom Cruise, after all.

I just got done reading the police report for the Chris Brown/Rhianna domestic abuse case, and I am sickened. I had tears welling up in my eyes; it was an absolutely horrifying read.

Chris Brown claims that he made a mistake. I could MAYBE buy that if it had been a single slap, but no way could such a fucking assault be a simple mistake. It's not even a case of losing his temper. You don't knock someones head against the window, bite her ear, choke her, headlock her, punch her in the face numerous times making her get blood all over, and get to call that a mistake. Sorry. It's sick and wrong and I hope he rots in prison for it.

I am also deeply saddened that they are back together. My first instinct is to feel sickened by it, but I do understand that many battered women make excuses for their abusive partners. It's not okay though. It will never be okay.

I never even really liked Rhianna or Chris Brown, but now I'm really, really rooting for her to get her head on straight and leave him before he does something similar again. I'm also really, really, really rooting for the LA DA to press some hardcore charges against Chris Brown. The asshole deserves it.

Noooo!

From ONTD:

Craig Ferguson, the host of CBS' "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson" has gotten married to Megan Cunningham.

According to IMDB, Megan Cunningham is the Founder and Principal of Magnet Media, the leading educational media company serving the entertainment industry.

I mean, congratulations. I can't help but notice that Megan Cunningham isn't Kristin Chenoweth. I don't know if I'm ready to give up my RPF OTP* yet. I hope he has much happiness in this marriage; I'm sure she's a nice lady. But no way is she as cute and perky as Cheno is.

*I also love him and Kristen Bell together. He apparently has great chemistry with petite, blonde Kristi(e)ns.

The good Mr. Damon sounds very intelligent and voices my thoughts very well. He makes some good points about Governor Palin and the possibility of her becoming President. I especially appreciate the comment about it being somewhat like a bad Disney movie. I know some people just want celebrities to keep their mouths shut about politics, but if this brings some attention to Sarah Palin's attempts to ban books and her views on creationism, then I wish more celebrities would speak out. I'm sick of hearing how Obama called her a pig and would rather hear something substantial coming from the McCain/Palin ticket. I would love for Sarah Palin to prove that she wasn't a purely political choice--perhaps that would actually be a step forward in politics for women.

Zuma?

Really Gwen? Zuma? That's... interesting.

Kingston was nice. But Zuma? It's like Puma. Or Zima. Or Zubaz.

Eh, whatevs. Not the weirdest name ever, I guess.

What is up with Katie Holmes's new obsession with tight-rolling her jeans?

Stop it!

Truly one of the funniest men to have ever lived.

How was I not aware that Gina Torres is married to Laurence Fishburne. I feel like this is something that I ought to have known.
thatgirlteresa: (GSP--bedazzled)
Mandy Moore and GSP sitting in a tree?

I guess if it can't be me, he might as well date Miss Moore. She is fricken awesome.

Even though I always hoped she'd date Chuck. I just thought they'd be mega cute together--age difference aside.

I keep reading people saying that the whole *scandal* is being overblown, and I am not usually one to be easily offended. I was, however, completely disgusted by the picture of Miley Cyrus.

Yes, there wasn't any actual nudity and all of her important bits were covered. What disgusts me is that the rumpled bed sheet and messy hair and pouty look completely sexualizes a 15 year old girl. I don't give two fucks about what kind of influence this picture may have on her young fans. Vanity Fair is, after all, not aimed at the Hannah Montana/preteen demographic. This is the fact that I find so appalling. Vanity Fair is presenting a 15 year-old child as a sexualized being to an adult audience. I agree that the photograph is art and not pornography, BUT the point of this piece of art is definitely to evoke the image of sex from the viewers of the picture. It is simply inappropriate and wrong for the subject of such an image to be so young.

Shame on Vanity Fair, shame on Annie Liebowitz, and most of all, shame on Miley's parents. It is disgusting, and now that I've gone all tl;dr, maybe I can let it go.

Oh yes. One last thought: Miley is a stupid fucking name. I wish I could punch every person who gives their kids such a cutesy lil' name. Ish.

Sad news

Patrick Swayze has terminal cancer.

I love so much about this man. Dirty Dancing, Road House, Ghost, The Outsiders, etc.

I even saw him in a mediocre performance of Billy Flynn in Chicago. He was pretty okay, but every song he sang in the play lacked the awesomeness of "She's Like the Wind."
thatgirlteresa: (The Iceman)
I'm really pretty sad about this. I was channel surfing towards the end of my shift at work and stumbled up the TV Guide networks coverage of his death. I started to well up while watching it, which surprised me. I haven't been too attached to him as an actor but I really liked his stuff. Mostly I'm sad for his little baby. I just... don't feel like I should be so affected by this. I'm a pro wrestling fan after all. People I'm a fan of die on a semi-regular basis. Yet this one is tough. He was way too young to go. I've read other people comparing this to River Phoenix and I'm betting it's a pretty similar situation. I was too young to know much or be impacted to a great deal by River Phoenix's death, so maybe this is our generation's River Phoenix.

Sad.

Okay, seriously Iman should be introduced as The Wife of David Bowie. I don't think that this title should replace Supermodel and Fashion Icon--I just think that it should be added on. I can't believe I didn't know about their marriage until very recently.

Aww! Look at this picture I found. Posh looks fabulous! Mel C. also looks delightfully dykey. I so *heart* Posh and Becks.

I know, I know. Obviously I am a deep thinker with an extraordinary mind, but ever since she got her nose done ages and ages ago, her face has bothered me. I had a sick love for Ashlee Simpson that I was deeply ashamed of before she got her schnoz debumpified. Now, however, I don't care much for her. She doesn't look like herself anymore. Some might say that it was an upgrade and her face looks better. In some ways, they are right. I think she is much prettier now, but it's a very conventional pretty. Her face lacks any character and is now completely unremarkable. She is merely pretty, and nothing more. How sad... Almost as sad as wasting my thoughts on her nose job from a year and a half ago.

oh geez...
