Emmy nominations

thatgirlteresaYou know, I really don't know why, but I really thought that I'd be happy with this year's nominations. I was so wrong though. No Mary McDonnell for Outstanding Lead Actress, which is bullshit. She's so fantastic in that role. Still, it's a Sci Fi series (that isn't Lost), so I knew it was a long shot. But why oh why was Friday Night LIghts completely ignored AGAIN!? Specifically, the amazing work of Connie Britton. She should have won that Emmy last year (and the show should have won the Emmy too--it truly was the perfect season of television), but not even a nomination? It's so hard to take these seriously when clearly it's just the same old standbys that keep getting all the recognition.
I am happy for Lee Pace and Kristin Chenoweth for their noms (Pushing Daisies as a series should have gotten a nom too...), and go 30 Rock--I have the feeling that they're gonna do a pretty clean sweep this year. And you know, it was a damn funny show this past season, so they deserve it.
I'm still upset though.
