You know, I really don't know why, but I really thought that I'd be happy with this year's nominations. I was so wrong though. No Mary McDonnell for Outstanding Lead Actress, which is bullshit. She's so fantastic in that role. Still, it's a Sci Fi series (that isn't Lost), so I knew it was a long shot. But why oh why was Friday Night LIghts completely ignored AGAIN!? Specifically, the amazing work of Connie Britton. She should have won that Emmy last year (and the show should have won the Emmy too--it truly was the perfect season of television), but not even a nomination? It's so hard to take these seriously when clearly it's just the same old standbys that keep getting all the recognition.

I am happy for Lee Pace and Kristin Chenoweth for their noms (Pushing Daisies as a series should have gotten a nom too...), and go 30 Rock--I have the feeling that they're gonna do a pretty clean sweep this year. And you know, it was a damn funny show this past season, so they deserve it.

I'm still upset though.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Act II was pretty much as awesome as Act I. I like the way the plot is developing, and Captain Hammer! Hee! His hammer is )

I love it.

From time to time over the past couple of years, I've caught episodes of How I met Your Mother while at work. It always struck me as a pretty amusing show, but it seemed to be a traditional sitcom that was lacking the brilliance of other 1/2 hour comedies--like the ones that NBC airs (OfficeEarlScrubs30Rock... aka Thursday-Night-Awesomeness).

Thanks largely to Dr. Horrible's complete greatness, however, I found myself in need of more NPH in my life. Honestly, who doesn't need more NPH in their life? So I sought out HIMYM.

I've been thoroughly enjoying it. I continue to love Nick Andopolis and Willow, and the lead dude is pretty swell too (and cute!). NPH truly is the show stealer though. I shall continue to make my way through this show as long as I can follow the adventures of Mr. Barney Stinson.

What's all this babbling leading to?

I just had to pause and rush over here to squee about something. Nick Andopolis and Willow (Marshall and Lily) are heading home for Thanksgiving. And where does Nick Andopolis call home?

St. Cloud, Minnesota. That's my home too! sort of.

I'm such a loser, but it totes made me way excited.
